Imagine a place where you can purchase tailor-made denim for under $50. Such a place does exist and its name is Dejour.

Situated in the northern end of Brunswick in Melbourne, the denim-only store has become an institution. Crowds flock to Dejour's tiny store to grab a pair, or four, of their own custom-fit denim.

You begin by choosing your waist size and preferred cut. There are over 10 different cuts for men and women including high, mid and low waist, skinny, straight and boyfriend cuts. When you try them on the friendly staff ask how you like your jeans and see if they need altering. Whether it's taken in at the waist, hemmed or there's too much material around the knee, they can do it. Then storeowner Nam Huynh customises your denim on the spot if you go on a quieter day, or at worst you leave them overnight. And the result? Jeans that fit perfectly!

Using locally made Australian Bradmill denim, Dejour are quality jeans ranging from $40-$50 dollars including alterations. A bargain too good to pass up.

I never thought I would say this, but it was a dream to go shopping for jeans at Dejour!
