Humming Puppy

When I first stepped into Humming Puppy, I knew I found my space. Luxurious and calming, it's the crème de la crème of yoga studios.

The quirky name, Humming Puppy, refers to the 'hum' that resonates in the 27 degree heated studio and the 'puppy' pose in yoga. One of the world's leading acoustic engineers, ARUP, designed the hum. It's "a combination of frequencies to enhance and deepen your experience" says co-owners Christopher Koch and Jacqui Alexander, and believe me it works.

Four different yoga class styles are offered; Unified Hum, Dynamic Hum, Mellow Hum and Deepen Your Hum. Despite the cool interior, the vibe at Humming Puppy is very welcoming. From beginners to the most experienced yogis, the teachers align their classes to the students and give variations of poses to cater for everyone.

The sleek styling and facilities are top notch. Meticulously cleaned yoga mats, towels and equipment are provided. After class, there is a hot tea and coconut water station in the lounge area, encouraging students to relax and mingle. Towels, quality hair products and GHD dryers and straighteners are on offer in the bathroom.

Once you try out Humming Puppy, you'll never want to go to another yoga studio again. The teachers are brilliant, some of the best I've had in my four years of practicing. Be sure to reserve your classes, they are almost always booked out.

Also Sydney get excited, Humming Puppy is coming for you!
