Fashion doesn't have to be bought one season, thrown away the next. I am constantly convincing friends that each purchase of mine is equally as calculated as it is thrilling, and when chosen well, the pieces can last many seasons. My leather bomber jacket is the perfect case in point. I bought it eight years ago from Gorman after falling in love with the supple leather and perfect cut. Years later the bomber is still on high rotation in my wardrobe.

In 2016, bomber jackets are one of the must-have items of the season. With options in silk, cotton, leather or satin, you are sure to find one you love. Wear it casually with relaxed jeans, a t-shirt and sneakers or dress it up with a skirt, shirt and heeled boots, as I have here.

I don't need to convince anyone that a calculated purchase is a myth, it speaks for itself. Buy wisely and your wardrobe will reward you for years to come.
