"This season, consumers are looking for a state of thoughtful, emotional and artistic equilibrium. While this need for stability is reflected in the composition of the palette, the inherent versatility of the individual colours allows for experimentation with new looks and colour combinations." - Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®

Take a moment to think about the world without colour, how one dimensional and lifeless it would be. Colours play a vital role in our lives and most people are unaware of the profound effect it has on our behaviour. Every colour has a unique effect and the company PANTONE® has made a living out of it. They label themselves the 'world-renowned authority on colour' and I'd believe that! PANTONE® provides colour systems and selection technology to a broad range of industries. In the fashion industry their colour knowledge and expertise flows down from designers to manufacturer to retailer to us as the consumers.

PANTONE® Fashion Colour Report for Spring 2014 for women displays a colourful array of soft pastels juxtaposing with vivid brights. Inspired by mixture of blooming flowers, travels abroad, and strong, confident women, designers use colour to refresh, revive and defy conventional practice.
