Telstra Perth Fashion Festival 2015

TPFF 2015 Lei Lady Lei

Telstra Perth Fashion Festival 2015 launched yesterday with a beautiful morning tea at the revamped Flour Factory.

Running from September 15 to 20, this year's programme looks to be an amazing one. With tickets being released today at 9am, these are my top picks.

1. Opening Night: Dilettante

Everyone knows that opening and closing night of the festival will be standouts. This year one of my favourite stores in Perth, Dilettante, is presenting Opening Night. With the combination of innovative designs by 33 Poets’, monochrome and silhouettes by Yang Li and feminine forms by Toni Maticevski, this runway event is not to be missed.

2. Akira

Celebrated Australian designer, Akira, will be showcasing his Spring/Summer and Archive Rework 2015 collection in his WA runway debut. Known for his delicately detail yet statement and oriental inspired garments, Akira’s show will definitely be one of the highlights of the festival.

3. Jaime Lee

I'm still dreaming of Jaime Lee’s demi-couture Perth Fashion Festival show in 2013. It was truly a dream with the show adorned with flowers. No doubt this year’s runway, inspired by Japanese theme parks, will be just as stunning. Lee is collaborating with Perth-born, London-based footwear designer Kira Goody, which will be amazing paired with her gowns. Goody’s bespoke shoes are works of art.

4. Front Row with David Downton

If you love fashion illustration, you won’t want to miss a chance to meet legendary fashion illustrator David Downton. See illustrations at the exhibition drawn from the front row of this season’s couture shows, including Saint Laurent and Dior.

5. Fashion Forward

Hosted by my lovely friends and winners of WA Fashion Awards Best Fashion Blogger, The Boyfriend Shirt, are hosting a fashionable high tea in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation. Come an enjoy an afternoon of fashion, sweets and cocktails and support a worthy cause.

6. Closing Night: Wheels and Dollbaby

Just as opening Night is a must, so is closing Night. This year, international burlesque star Dita Von Teese will be on the runway in WA label Wheels and Dollbaby. I don’t know about you, but I’ve always wanted to see the fabulous Dita Von Teese in person and this will be my chance.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, July 22nd at 9am - http://www.telstraperthfashionfestival.com.au
