The Goodland
The Goodland hotel is in a league of its own. Located in Goleta, twenty minutes from downtown Santa Barbara in California, this under-the-radar chic boutique Kimpton hotel ticks all of the boxes of a great stay.
The hotel is meticulously detailed to create the cool Southern Californian, or SoCal, vibe, from longboards hanging from the ceiling to vintage record players in each room. To add to the friendly and laidback atmosphere, there is always something going on at The Goodland; trivia on Wednesday nights in The Good Bar, happy hour between 4pm-7pm in the Outpost restaurant, yoga on Sunday mornings and DJs spin the decks around the pool for Sunday Funday.
For the first night of our honeymoon, The Goodland was the best possible choice. We began our stay with a welcome wine in the hotel lobby offered to all guests for evening social hour. Afterwards we moved into the Californian cool Outpost restaurant, where we ordered Margaritas on the rocks, DIY guacamole, pork bao buns and ceviche with poutine. It was delicious.
Back in our surf inspired room, we made Moscow Mules with the complimentary ginger beer, vodka and lime juice and snacked on popcorn and nuts left for us, while I made use of the sturdy wifi and settled in for the night.
Our stay at The Goodland exceeded our expectations, if only we could have stayed longer.
