Jean Paul Gaultier for NGV

Jean Paul Gaultier's exhibition at National Gallery of Victoria blew me away.

Organised by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in collaboration with Maison Jean Paul Gaultier, this exhibition features the forty years of Jean Paul Gaultier's work. From his very first dress he designed in the 1970s to his latest haute couture and ready-to-wear collections in 2014, you will find yourself immersed into his spectacular (and at times crazy) world.

RAW Perth

Last month I attended RAW Perth at the Bakery. With the vibe of a mini festival, RAW is an international arts organisation promoting emerging movers and shakers in their field. Now held in over 60 countries, RAW's festivities are unlike any other event on the calendar.

Guests at RAW Perth were in for an eclectic mix of cool art, music and fashion by a selection of homegrown talents -- visual artists, musicians, performance artists, fashion and accessory designers, hair stylists and makeup artists -- all coming together for a wildly diverse night.

Wanderlust | Mekel

Mekel's WANDERLUST exhibition ran as part of Urban Couture 2014. Local fashion illustrator Kelly Coates' work always transports me to a world of fashion, flowing gowns and beautiful girls. Her dreamy use of the black pen and splash of watercolour is perfect. I now own two pieces from Mekel. A framed original of J.Mendel lime green couture gown from this exhibition which was a lovely belated birthday gift from Mr CK and a limited edition print from Mekel's Perth Fashion Festival exhibition last year.

Stella Jean Spring/Summer 2014

I first discovered designer and queen of clashing prints, Stella Jean, back in 2013 on Pinterest. I fell in love with her whimsical style, tribal patterns and charming silhouettes. Half-Haitian, half-Italian model turned fashion designer, Jean's new Spring Summer 2014 collection is the perfect ray of sunshine, spreading happiness to all who glance upon her designs. Playful and quirky, Jean uses her multicultural background to create the perfect balance of Italian haute couture craftsmanship, ethnic shapes and prints and a timeless elegance.
